Corey Davison · Owner and operator Who shows up
The estimate comes from the person on the machine
TrackWest is owner-operated out of a shop on State Route 20 in Newport, a mile from the Idaho line. Corey Davison walks every site, puts the scope and price in writing, and runs the excavator himself, so the pad your builder gets is the pad you were quoted. River sand, bench cobble, hillside rock: he has dug all of it within a few miles of the shop.

Trackwest did an amazing job at installing a chainlink fence for us. They were the only company out of the 4 we contacted that knew about what specific materials were needed (extruded/bonded, gauge, ect). Corey also came back 3 separate times to measure when we changed the plans. Corey also offered to do tree removal which was awesome. I highly recommend Trackwest for any of your fence needs.

Site walk questions
Straight answers before the site walk
How much does excavation cost around Newport?
It depends on the machine time, the soil, and the haul. Sandy ground near the river digs fast; rock and hardpan on the hillsides take longer and sometimes a bigger machine. Access, how far spoils travel, and whether material needs to come in all move the number. We walk the site first so the written estimate reflects your ground, not an average.
Do I need a permit to clear or grade land in Pend Oreille County?
Sometimes. The county has rules for clearing, grading, and work near water, and Idaho counties have their own. We will tell you on the site walk which rules apply to your project and which office issues the permit.
Can you do the septic system?
We do the excavation for septic systems designed and permitted through the health district: the tank hole, drainfield, and line trenches, dug to the approved plan and backfilled properly. Your designer handles the layout and the permit; we make sure the ground matches it.
Do you work in Idaho?
Yes. We are licensed and insured in both Washington and Idaho and work Oldtown, Priest River, Blanchard, and Spirit Lake as often as the Washington side. The shop is a mile from the state line.
